Wet cat food “Four-Legged Gourmet” is produced in Russia by order of the company of the same name.
The official website contains information about the manufacturer, the composition of all lines of feed, and recommended feeding rates. This food belongs to the premium and super-premium class (depending on the line). The Four-Legged Gourmet brand also produces wet dog food and ferret food.
Composition of the food “Four-legged gourmet”
At the time of writing this review, four lines of canned cat food are produced - Golden Line, Cold Cuts, Soufflé, and Pates. Below we will separately look at examples of the compositions of each of them.
Gold Line
Let's look at the composition of the Four-Legged Gourmand canned food from the Golden Line line using the example of the "Chicken with Veal in Jelly" option for kittens:
Photo of the composition indicated on the can of canned food.
The basis of the food is chicken and veal, these two ingredients are in first and second place, respectively. Meat is a good source of protein, which contains at least 11.5% (indicated in the “Nutritional Value” section).
In third place is chicken fat, which is a source of fats and fatty acids. Contains no more than 10% fat. Fermented rice is a natural food coloring for meat products. Taurine is an essential amino acid for cats.
Brewer's yeast is a source of B-group vitamins. Fish oil is a source of fats and fatty acids. Seaweed - contains a lot of iodine and other trace elements. Yucca schedigera - reduces the smell of excrement. Gelling additive - needed to create jelly. Water is needed to create jelly.
In general, the composition of canned food in the Golden Line line is very good, corresponding to the super-premium class.
Cold cuts
Let’s look at the composition of canned food in the “Assorted Meats” line using the example of the “chicken” option:
Photo of the composition indicated on the canned food.
The first ingredient is chicken meat, 45% of it, which is a good source of protein. Next come meat by-products - heart (14%), lung, liver. These three ingredients are rich in protein, vitamins, minerals (especially liver).
Collagen-containing raw materials - it is not specified what exactly (it could be tendons, bone, skin trimmings, etc.). Animal protein - it is clear what serves as a source of protein, but it is not known from what raw materials this protein is obtained.
Manufacturer information.
Vegetable oil serves as a source of fats and fatty acids. Taurine is an essential (very necessary) amino acid for cats. Water - probably needed for the liquid with which the meat ingredients are poured.
In general, the composition of the canned food Four-Legged Gourmet “Meat Line” is quite good, it more than corresponds to the premium class.
Pates
Let’s get acquainted with the composition of the “Pate” line using the example of the “beef for kittens” option:
Screenshot of the composition listed on the official website of the food.
The basis of pates is meat and meat by-products, in this case it is beef (30%), meat by-products (which ones are not specified) and chicken. All of them serve as sources of protein and other nutrients.
Rice cereal (3%) is a source of carbohydrates. Blood plasma is a source of protein and also serves as a stabilizer and emulsifier of fats. Gelling agent - needed to create jelly. Fiber (it is not specified which one) is needed for normal digestion.
Sunflower oil and fish oil are sources of fats and fatty acids. Yeast is a source of B-group vitamins. Taurine is an essential amino acid for cats.
Souffle
Let’s take a look at the composition of the “Soufflé” line using the example of the “veal and rabbit for kittens” option:
Screenshot of the composition listed on the official website of the food.
In these canned foods, the first place is no longer meat, but chicken by-products. It is not specified which by-products and what percentage, but if it is the heart, liver, then very good, because they are rich in protein, vitamins and minerals. Next comes veal and rabbit, but again it is not clear what lies behind these names (meat or some kind of offal).
Blood plasma is a source of protein and also serves as a stabilizer and emulsifier of fats. Animal protein is a source of protein, but it is not clear from what products it is obtained. Gelling agent - needed to create jelly.
Amino acids (taurine and glycine) are needed by the cat’s body and play an important role in many biological processes. Natural caramel dye - gives canned food a certain color.
In general, the “Souffle” line has the most questionable composition in terms of quality. However, it can still be classified as premium.
Advantages and disadvantages
The advantages of canned food Four-Legged Gourmet include:
- the basis of the composition is meat and meat by-products;
- good content of vitamins and minerals for canned food;
- wide range, including 4 lines and many feed options;
- They are quite common and can be purchased at many pet stores.
The disadvantages of this food can be considered:
- Not all lines are equally good, some are excellent, others are a little worse.
Types of feed
At the moment we have 4 types of food:
The first super premium food class - Golden Line
This is a product consisting mainly of chopped pieces of meat fillet (content 98%) and filled with a small amount of jelly (about (2%). Plant products and inexpensive by-products are not added to this food. Canned food is sold in tin cans. There are two types - for adult cats and kittens more tender and finely chopped.Depending on the type of meat, 7 products are obtained.
For cats this is meat:
- -veal
- -beef
- - turkeys
- -Chicken
For kittens this is meat:
- -young chicken with veal
- -turkey with giblets
- -turkey with veal.
Cat food should be given in an amount of 30-50 grams per kg. weight of the cat, divided into two doses. The feed temperature should be close to room temperature. One jar contains 100 grams of food, i.e. it will last for two days.
Let's look at the composition. The composition of cat food looks more attractive due to the small number of ingredients. It contains meat, taurine, a gelling agent and water.
It is not specified what the gelling substance is made of. Taurine is an amino acid that improves the processes occurring in the cat’s body. Previously, cats received taurine by eating rodents. Nowadays, domestic cats deprived of the pleasure of hunting need to add it to their food or give taurine containing vitamins.
Kitten food contains a richer composition. In addition to components similar to cat food, there are also: chicken fat, fermented rice, brewer's yeast, fish oil, seaweed, yucca schidigera.
Reference!!
- Fermented rice is a natural colorant. There is no benefit to it.
- Seaweed has many beneficial substances.
- Brewer's yeast contains B vitamins.
- Yucca schedigera is a plant whose substances cope with bacteria that have settled in the intestines.
The second type of food is Cold Cuts
This is a premium food containing many meat components (95%).
REFERENCE!! Meat components are not only pure meat, but also offal, the content of which is indicated on the can as a percentage.
Vitamins and minerals are also added to the food.
Depending on the type of meat, there are 9 types of food for cats and 6 for kittens. In addition to animal meat, the food contains heart, liver, vegetable oil, jelly, collagen-containing animal raw materials, taurine and fiber.
Here questions arise regarding collagen-containing animal raw materials; these can be residues from animal raw materials (bones, horns, hooves, cartilage and various wastes). They increase the percentage of protein in the feed.
Vitamins added to the food are A, E and group B. As well as minerals K, Mg, Na, Cl, Fe, P, Mn, Cu, Co, I.
The food is also packaged in 100 g jars, but you need to consume 60-75 g each. per kg. weight, room temperature.
Third type - pates
- This is a premium food containing less meat components (87%). Including by-products. This food is also rich in vitamins and minerals.
- Vitamins added to the food are A, E and group B. As well as minerals K, Mg, Na, Cl, Fe, P, Mn, Cu, Co, I.
- Depending on the type of meat, there are 7 types of food for cats and 3 for kittens.
- Unlike previous types, this food contains blood plasma. What it is made of is not entirely clear.
The fourth type is soufflé
This is a premium product that appeared relatively recently, in 2021. Contains meat components - meat and offal (92%). It differs from others in its soft consistency and airiness. It is also loaded with vitamins and minerals.
- Vitamins added to the food are A, E and group B. As well as minerals K, Mg, Na, Cl, Fe, P, Mn, Cu, Co, I.
- Depending on the type of meat, there are 2 types of food for cats and 2 for kittens.
- Unlike other types, glycine and natural caramel coloring were added here.
- Cans of 100 gr. You need to consume 50-65 grams. per kg. weight, room temperature.
Reference!!! Glycine is a medicine. It should be prescribed to cats by veterinarians. You should not give this medicine yourself. It is given for depression, shock and to combat the consequences of traumatic brain injuries. Natural caramel dye determines the color of the soufflé.
Cat owners have been using it in their pets' diet for quite some time. Reviews about it are mostly positive; many people like it for its composition and positive effect on the animal. However, when purchasing, always read the ingredients; they are not equally good everywhere.

Four-legged gourmet Golden line chicken in jelly. The canned food is not even bad, although it does contain salt, but you can’t taste it at all. We use Berkley base, but sometimes I give these, my beauty loves them) I take chicken or turkey. I didn’t like the one with veal, just fat.

Four-legged Gourmet golden line for kittens. Looks very decent! The jar is very tightly packed with meat, without any pieces of fat. Moreover, it is meat, not minced meat (maybe a mixture). The kitten ate it for the first time. And the next time I didn’t finish eating

I consider Four-Legged Gourmet canned food to be of high quality and suitable for my cats (I have two Siamese blue-eyed beauties, I buy them a regular selection of cold cuts). They love these canned foods, they always eat them with gusto, the appearance of the cats shows that the food suits them, the fur is shiny and silky to the touch. Eats and silky to the touch.
