Feedback from cat owners

Most of the reviews from cat owners who use Essential are positive. Ease of use and quick results are noted.

Nikolai. We struggled with unpleasant odors in the house for a long time until we realized that they were mainly emitted by our already middle-aged Persian cat. We started using Essential on the advice of a veterinarian, because the shampoos only had an effect for 3-4 weeks. As a result, not only the smell itself disappeared, but also the fur became shiny and glossy - just like that of a young cat. One course was enough - they applied it once a week for 2 months in a row.

Antonina. There were never any special problems with our cat, but then we had to travel - first by car, then on an airplane. Naturally, this is an inconvenience. But before I would never have thought that fur could give off a weak, specific smell. Therefore, I had to use the Essential product.

Cat owners speak positively about the drug Essential.

Veronica. My cat has long-standing problems with dandruff and dry skin - as the veterinarian said, hormonal changes due to age (she is already 7 years old). Of course, we tried ointments and lotions. They had an effect, but after some time the old story repeated itself. I advise everyone not to self-medicate, but to contact a veterinarian.

Pharmacology Essentiale N

Pharmacological effects – hepatoprotective, cytoprotective.

Pharmacodynamics of the drug Essentiale N

Essential phospholipids

represent the main structural elements of the cell wall and membranes of intracellular organelles. In liver pathology, damage to the cell membranes of hepatocytes and their organelles always occurs. This phenomenon is called hepatocyte cytolysis syndrome, which is biochemically manifested by an increase in the activity of alanine and aspartic transaminases in the blood serum. This syndrome causes disruption of the activity of enzymes and receptors, leading to a deterioration in the structural and functional state of hepatocytes. Their ability to regenerate is also reduced.

Phospholipids included in

, are completely consistent in their physicochemical structure with endogenous phospholipids. The activity of essential phospholipids is significantly higher, which can be explained by their higher content of polyunsaturated fatty acids. The above-mentioned high-energy molecules are integrated into defective areas of the membranes of the cell wall of liver cells, which helps restore the integrity of hepatocytes and stimulates their regeneration. The cis-double bonds of the polyunsaturated fatty acids that make up the composition neutralize the parallel arrangement of hydrocarbon chains in the phospholipids of cell membranes, while the structure of the phospholipids of the liver cell membranes “looses,” which leads to an increase in their elasticity and fluidity. Thanks to this, metabolism in hepatocytes significantly improves.

Essential phospholipids, which are the active ingredient of Essentiale, in the body of humans, dogs and cats have a regulating effect on the metabolism of lipoproteins by transporting cholesterol and neutral fats to the sites of their oxidation. This pharmacological effect of essential phospholipids is associated with an increase in the ability of high-density lipoproteins to conjugate with cholesterol.

The cardioprotective properties of Essentiale have been described in humans, dogs and cats.

The drug has a normalizing effect on:

  • on detoxification, urea-synthesizing, protein-synthesizing functions of the liver
  • on the preservation and restoration of phospholipid-dependent enzyme systems and the cell wall of hepatocytes, which inhibits the formation and proliferation of fibrous connective tissue in the liver
  • metabolism of proteins and lipids
  • due to the release of phospholipids into the bile, the lithogenic index is significantly reduced, which leads to the stabilization of bile and the prevention of cholelithiasis

Pharmacokinetics of Essentiale

In the body of humans, dogs and cats, phosphatidylcholine enters hepatocytes, and it is conjugated with high-density lipoproteins.

The half-life of the choline component is about 66 hours, and the polyunsaturated fatty acids are about 32 hours.

Pharmacological properties

The beneficial effect of the hepatoprotector Hepatovet on the liver is due to its complex composition.

The biologically active components of the drug have the following pharmacological properties:

  • Thanks to the action of phospholipids, hepatocyte membranes are restored and protected, metabolic processes are improved, water and fat metabolism are stabilized, enzyme activity increases, and the development of fibrosis stops.
  • Normalization of protein production. As a result, the glycogen supply in the liver increases, contributing to the body’s resistance to the effects of toxic substances, and chemical reactions are accelerated.
  • Hepatovet is effective for the prevention and treatment of fatty liver degeneration (lipidosis), due to the methionine content in the drug, which prevents the increase and accumulation of lipids in the organ. The amino acid also increases the activity of hormones, vitamins, and proteins. Increases the concentration of phospholipids.
  • Detoxifying properties, accelerating the removal of toxins.
  • General strengthening effect on the digestive gland.
  • Elimination of stagnation in the biliary tract, increasing bile secretion while reducing its viscosity, improving its outflow.
  • Due to the content of L-ornithine in the preparation, its regenerating effect is noted, as well as the ability to remove ammonia from the body.
  • Anti-inflammatory and analgesic qualities of the drug.

Method of using essentiale in humane medicine and its dose to humans

The drug is used in the form of intravenous injections. It is undesirable to inject this drug intramuscularly, which is due to the development of local reactogenic reactions (the drug irritates soft tissues and causes an inflammatory reaction). The standard dose of Essentiale for humans is 5–10 ml (1–2 ampoules). For severe forms of hepatopathy, use 10–20 ml (2–4 ampoules) per day. The contents of 2 ampoules (10 ml) can be administered intravenously at a time. The drug can be used twice a day. It is strictly forbidden to mix essential phospholipids in the same syringe with other medications. It is recommended to dilute the drug with the patient’s blood in a 1:1 ratio (using autologous blood).

If necessary, the drug is diluted with only a 5-10% glucose solution, and the diluted drug solution should be transparent throughout the entire time of intravenous injection.

It is strictly forbidden to dissolve the drug with electrolyte solutions (isotonic nitride chloride solution, Ringer's solution, etc.).

It is recommended to supplement intravenous administration with oral forms of the drug as quickly as possible.

The drug is also used orally. Capsules of the drug must be swallowed whole and washed down with a sufficient volume of water (about 200 ml).

For adults and adolescents over 12 years of age, take 2 capsules 3 times a day with meals. The duration of use of Essentiale is not limited (determined by the attending physician).
