Drops

How to properly apply drops to the withers? Many even experienced owners do not always know the correct method, so the instructions will be described below.

  • Don’t make your cat nervous again, try to calm her down.
  • The withers are the place between the shoulder blades. It is at the withers that drops are used, since the cat cannot reach this place on its own. Should be applied to dry, intact skin.
  • After applying the required amount of liquid, lightly rub it into the animal’s fur.
  • At first, limit water treatments. Then most likely the product will be washed off and will not have the desired effect.
  • Treat your cat's favorite places against helminths. There is a possibility that parasites or their eggs are there too.

To destroy fleas, lice, lice and protect animals from attacks by ixodid ticks, animals are treated with Prazicide complex once a month throughout the entire season of insect activity. The drug is used externally for animals by applying it to dry, intact skin.

To treat otodectosis (ear scabies), the drug is applied to the skin once. During the treatment process, it is recommended to clean the ear canal of exudate and scabs, and in case of complications with otitis media, prescribe antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory drugs.

For sarcoptic mange, notoedrosis and demodicosis, the drug is applied with a swab to the affected areas of the body, previously cleared of scabs, from the periphery to the center, covering borderline healthy skin up to 1 cm, in the doses indicated in the table. Treatment is carried out 2 – 4 times with an interval of 10 – 14 days until the animal’s clinical recovery, which is confirmed by two negative results of acarological studies. Animals with large affected areas are treated in two doses with an interval of 1 day, applying the drug first to one and then to the other half of the affected body surface. To prevent licking of the drug, the animal is put on a cervical collar, a muzzle, or the jaws are closed with a loop of braid, which are removed 20–30 minutes after applying the solution. Treatment is recommended to be carried out comprehensively using pathogenetic and symptomatic agents according to the instructions for their use.

To deworm animals with nematodes and cestodes, the drug is used for therapeutic purposes once, for prophylactic purposes - once a quarter in the doses indicated in the table.

With a significant overdose of the drug, animals may experience: anxiety, hypersalivation, muscle tremors, shortness of breath, diarrhea and vomiting. There are no specific means of detoxification; general measures are used aimed at removing the drug from the body.

No specific effects of the drug upon its first use were identified.

Prazicide complex should not be used by puppies and kittens under 2 months of age, as well as by pregnant and lactating females.

If the next treatment with Prazicide-complex is missed, its use is resumed in the same dosage and according to the same scheme.

As a rule, there are no side effects or complications when using Prazicide complex in accordance with these instructions. In rare cases, if there is increased individual sensitivity to the drug (lacrimation, excessive salivation, muscle tremors, vomiting) or signs of skin irritation, its use should be stopped, washed off with water and detergent, and, if necessary, the animal should be prescribed antihistamines and symptomatic medications.

. Prazicide complex should not be used in conjunction with avermectin-containing and other antiparasitic drugs.

Prazicide complex is not intended for use in productive animals.

Reviews after use:

Veniamin: I used the drug for preventive purposes. My cat does not go outside or interact with other animals, but sometimes eats raw fish and meat. Therefore, once a quarter I give him a suspension of prazicide. He eats it with pleasure without any extraneous treats. If your pet refuses to eat the suspension, then you can mix it with canned food.

Lyubov: Last year, our 3-month-old kitten Ryzhik was found to have worms in his feces. We immediately took him to the vet, he prescribed us Prazicide. Within a week, the worms stopped tormenting my pet. He is eating well and is now more active. Now I periodically use the drug for prevention. My cat is no longer bothered by parasites.

Prazicide-complex - what are the reviews?

I honestly searched and didn’t find a topic. They casually passed over the word praziticide, but there was nothing else.

Now, as I understand it, gentle methods of treating animals are becoming more widespread - instead of tablets and suspensions, they are starting to use Spot-on, applying drops to the withers. The most famous drug is Frontline.

But I have a question about the new drug “Prazid-complex”

Here is a scientific description of the mechanism of action

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Prazicide complex belongs to the combined antiparasitic drugs. It has a wide spectrum of action, is active against larval and mature phases of development of intestinal nematodes, including Toxocara canis, Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonine, Ancylostoma spp., Uncinaria stenocephala, Trichuris vulpis and cestodes, including Echinococcus granulosus, Echinococcus multilocularis, Diphylobothrium latum, Dipilidium caninum, Multiceps multiceps, Taenia spp., Mesocestoides lineatus, fleas (Ctenocephalides spp.), lice (Linognatus setotus), lice mites (Trichodectes canis), sarcoptoid mites (Sarcoptes canis, Otodectes cynotes, Notoedres cati) and demodectic mites (Demodex canis) parasitic in dogs and cats. The pharmacokinetic properties of the drug ensure its good absorption from the site of application and long-term preservation in therapeutic concentrations in the animal’s body.

The mechanism of action of ivermectin, which is part of the drug, is its effect on the magnitude of the current of chlorine ions through the membranes of the nerve and muscle cells of the parasite. The main targets are glutamate-sensitive chloride channels, as well as γ-aminobutyric acid receptors. A change in the current of chlorine ions disrupts the conduction of impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of ectoparasites and nematodes.

The action of praziquantel is based on the depolarization of neuromuscular ganglion blockers, disruption of glucose transport and microtubular function of all phases of cestode development, which causes disruption of muscle innervation, paralysis and death of parasites.

Levamisole has nematocidal activity and exhibits immunostimulating properties by increasing the number of T-lymphocytes.

Prazicide-complex, in terms of the degree of impact on the body, belongs to moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), when applied to the skin in recommended doses, it does not have a resorptive-toxic, locally irritating, embryotoxic, teratogenic or sensitizing effect . Upon contact with mucous membranes, it causes mild irritation. The drug is toxic to fish and bees.

Question: Are there any reviews because I want to constantly treat my three-month-old puppy for both worms and fleas and ticks since we live in the countryside. The grass on the site is mowed, so these reptiles are not there, but soon we will begin to go out into the open air, so to speak. :)

There is also “Inspector”, but for some reason it is not in my “court” petshop
